Since 1994
The story of Artwalk
Artwalk began in 1994 as Gallery Night. Six galleries and one bookstore in Alpine opened their doors the weekend before Thanksgiving, and neighbors walked from one to the next.
Over the years that walk grew into a two-day festival that fills downtown Alpine with artists, galleries, food and neighbors. In 2026 it is the 33rd annual Artwalk Alpine.
Hours: 10 AM to 10 PM
Our mission
To provide a venue for the promotion of the arts through educational, economic, and entertainment opportunities for children, students, patrons, artists, and tourists in Alpine, Big Bend and surrounding communities in rural Far West Texas.

Art scholarships
Artwalk funds an art scholarship at Sul Ross State University.
Alpine Public Library
The silent auction at Artwalk supports the Alpine Public Library, and it is the library's largest fundraiser of the year. Silent auction details
School art programs
Raffles, rummage sales and auctions have raised money for art programs in local schools.
