Artist statement

The landscapes of Far West Texas inspire everything I paint. Living in the high desert near Alpine, I am surrounded by dramatic skies, rugged mountains, native plants, wildlife, and a rich western heritage that continually reminds me there is extraordinary beauty in everyday places.

My goal is to create honest, accurate depictions of the landscapes and culture that I love. Drawing on my understanding of light and color, I strive to capture the vastness of the desert, the changing atmosphere, and the quiet moments that make this region unlike any other. Whether painting a sweeping mountain vista, a stand of desert plants, or a familiar ranch scene, I hope each piece reflects both the character of the place and the emotions it evokes.

More than anything, I want my paintings to invite viewers into the West Texas landscape, to experience its drama, its stillness, and its larger-than-life beauty. Through my work, I hope to preserve and celebrate the unique character of this remarkable corner of the American West.
